- by conducting statistical census and surveys, and
- from administrative records maintained by other agencies |

To analyse, estimate and project on selected
field of statistics. |

To disseminate national statistics and related information that:
- are produced in a timely manner, and
- can be easily accessed by all users |

To act as the focal point for statistical matters domestically and internationally.

To enhance the national statistical capability through continuous learning and improvement to meet the increasing demands for statistics, and to keep abreast with new developments in statistics both domestically and internationally.

To collaborate on statistical projects and activities with other agencies with the view to produce statistics with common concepts, definitions, methodologies and classifications accordance to the international statistical standards.
