A strong consumer regime is essential
in developing sustainable consumption in the Brunei's domestic market,
which is a crucial building block in achieving a dynamic and sustainable
economy, as aspired in the economic goal of Wawasan Brunei 2035. The
Permanent Secretary for Economy at the Ministry of Finance and Economy
stressed the matter during the Opening of a Training Course on Consumer
Protection Law. Doctor Dayang Hajah May Fa'ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin
also highlighted the importance of having in place an effective
fair-trading legislation to promote consumers' confidence and more
equitable marketplace.
